Taking a multisectoral, One Health approach is necessary to address complex health threats at the human-animal-environment interface.
The Tripartite organizations – the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the World Organisation of Animal Health (OIE), and the World Health Organization (WHO), launched the Tripartite Zoonoses Guide (TZG), the summation of a global effort of more than 100 experts coming together from around the world to provide guidance and best practices for addressing zoonotic diseases in countries.
Using country examples shared in the TZG, this training introduces participants to the technical chapters in the Guide while providing practical guidance for strengthening a One Health approach to zoonotic diseases.
Target Audience: Professionals from human, animal or environmental health sectors involved in the implementation of the IHR.
After completing this course you should be able to:
- Understand the purpose of the TZG.
- Recognize the tools that can be used to understand national context and priorities for One Health.
- Explore the seven technical chapters of the TZG.
- Use country examples to inform the application of key principles of the TZG.
- Identify operational tools available to support the use of the TZG at a country level.

Les zoonoses, classées comme endémiques ou émergentes, présentent des risques pour la santé animale et publique. Les activités d'identification, d'évaluation, de gestion et de réduction des risques de maladies zoonotiques bénéficient de la coordination et de la collaboration entre les ministères.
Les outils opérationnels d'évaluation conjointe des risques (ECR) ont été élaborés par les organisations tripartites - l'Organisation des Nations Unies pour l'alimentation et l'agriculture (FAO), l'Organisation Mondiale de la Santé Animale (OIE) et l'Organisation mondiale de la Santé (OMS). - et des experts techniques, pour fournir des orientations sur la manière de mettre en place un processus conjoint d'évaluation qualitative des risques aux niveaux national et infranational.
Au cours de cette formation, les participants exploreront le processus étape par étape pour la mise en place de l'ECR, la conduite de l'évaluation des risques techniques et la traduction des résultats en options de gestion des risques et en besoins de
communication. Les outils operationels de l'ECR permet aux décideurs d'élaborer et de mettre en
œuvre des mesures de gestion des risques fondées sur la science qui sont alignées entre les secteurs et mises en œuvre conjointement.
