WHO participated in the OH SMART training and One Health Central and East Africa University Network Workforce planning meeting. The OH SMART tool is a tool that promotes multisectoral collaboration championed by the University of Minnesota and its university networks. WHO provided information on IHR and the new monitoring framework which includes the Joint External Evaluation. The different tools and training resources developed and used  by WHO related to IHR as well as to promote One Health were also presented.

A Training of Trainers (ToT) for Rapid Response Teams (RRT) was delivered in French from 13 to 17 February in Nouakchott, Mauritania, to 28 participants from the national, regional, and district level. This ToT aimed to provide necessary knowledge and skills to future training coordinators and facilitators in order to plan, organize, deliver and evaluate a Rapid Response Teams training adapted to the specific context, needs and constraints in Mauritania.

The Training of Trainers (ToT) for Rapid Response Teams Training was held in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, from 26 to 30 September 2016. 40 participants from 5 African Francophone countries, including Benin, Burkina Faso, Central African Republic, Chad, Guinea Conakry and Mauritania were invited to attend this ToT.
