This book is a first-ever compilation of the global progress made in implementing smokeless tobacco control policies in line with the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (WHO FCTC).

The book is edited by Prof Ravi Mehrotra, Director, KH-SLT and NICPR, Dr. Dhirendra N. Sinha, Chairperson, School of Preventive Medicine, Patna and Dr. Tibor Szilagyi, Team Leader, WHO FCTC Convention Secretariat and includes contributions and inputs from more than 60 global experts working in the field of tobacco control.

This report is a first attempt to document Parties progress made in implementing SLT policies within the realm of WHO FCTC. The Report has been prepared by KH-SLT in accordance with the decisions taken by the WHO FCTC Conference of the Parties (COP) at its sixth session [FCTC/COP/6/9]. The WHO FCTC Convention Secretariat initiated and supported the development and publication of this book. The report provides Article wise overview and update of the status of SLT control policy and its implementation by the Parties to the WHO FCTC in different chapters.
