2nd National Consultation on Smokeless Tobacco Control in India - 21 February 2023

The WHO FCTC Knowledge Hub on Smokeless Tobacco at the ICMR-National Institute of Cancer Prevention and Research (ICMR-NICPR) organized the ‘2nd National Consultation on Smokeless Tobacco Control in India’ held from 21st to 23rd February 2023 at the India International Centre, Max Muller Marg, New Delhi. ICMR-NICPR is one of the National Institutes of Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), Department of Health Research, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), Government of India.

This National Consultation was organised in collaboration with the National Tobacco Control Programme (NTCP), MoHFW, The International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease (The Union) South East Asia Office, New Delhi and Socio Economic and Educational Development Society (SEEDS).

Objectives of the National Consultation:

1. Engage with national multi-sectoral partners and organizations to share experiences and ideate on innovative strategies for effective SLT control in India.

2. Develop a national roadmap towards curbing the SLT epidemic in the country.

3. Identification of research priorities for SLT control.
