Funding methods for programs and interventions

Activities to raise public awareness of tobacco issues can be very costly, and particularly in the case of media campaigns.

This can be a critical aspect of awareness policies, especially for countries with limited financial resources. That is why, when planning public awareness activities, the mobilisation of resources must be an integral part of the action plan and overall strategy.

This section deals with the identification, mobilisation and use of funding through proven and sustainable mechanisms for the implementation of Article 12 actions:

 

  • Implementing tobacco taxationthe taxation of tobacco products has proven to be effective in reducing tobacco consumption.
