EU assistance in Iran is currently implemented by Iranian and European non-state actors and by UN agencies. Ongoing projects are funded mainly under the European Instrument for Democracy and Human Rights (EIDHR) and focus on the promotion of good governance and human rights in Iran or under the Non-State Actors and Local Authorities in Development (NSA-LA) thematic programme.
