Disaster risk literacy refers to ability to understand disaster risk factors and potential impact of disasters on individuals and communities, and to think and take appropriate actions to reduce disaster risk [4,5]. Increasing disaster risk literacy empowers individuals, organisations, and communities to take necessary actions for disaster risk reduction, resilience building and disaster risk mitigating disaster impacts [6].
