EU SHIPSAN ACT training course on Hygiene and Health Practices on Passenger Ships

The first EU SHIPSAN ACT Joint Action training course was conducted in Tivoli Terme, Rome, Italy from Tuesday 8th to Thursday 10th October 2013. The course was co-organised by the EU SHIPSAN ACT Joint Action and the Italian Ministry of Health.
A total of 29 trainees participated in the training course: 16 seafarers from 6 cruise companies, 1 ferry company and 1 ship management company and 13 port health officers.

Ports, Airports and Ground Crossings: Learning programme on ship sanitation inspection

WHO teams on Ports, Airports and Ground Crossings (PAG) and Human Resources Development and Training (HRT) have developed a blended learning programme to support the learning needs of Member States to implement learning for port health inspectors responsible for  ship inspection and issuance of Ship Sanitation Certificate under the IHR 2005.

Handbook for inspection of ships and issuance of ship sanitation certificates - Estonian/German/Turkish

New language versions of Handbook for inspection of ships and issuance of ship sanitation certificates are now available on the WHO web site (Estonian, German, Turkish) in addition to English, French and Spanish.
