15.2 Well-being and health promotion: Outcome of the WHO Commission on Social Connection
The Alliance for Health Promotion welcomes continued efforts to advance health and well-being. Achieving equitable outcomes requires addressing the determinants of health through sustained political commitment, stronger governance, evidence-informed policymaking, and coordinated action across sectors.
We encourage Member States to integrate health promotion across policies, strengthen meaningful participation of communities and civil society, and reinforce action that addresses the underlying drivers of inequities in health outcomes.
We further encourage WHO to support countries through practical guidance, accountability mechanisms, capacity-building, and stronger evidence systems that support investment in health promotion and demonstrate its social and economic benefits.
These actions will be important to ensure health promotion receives sustained investment reflective of its demonstrated contribution to population health, resilience, and sustainable development.
