International Pharmaceutical Students' Federation

Meeting:

79th WHA Individual Statements

Agenda Item:
- Group 3: PHC & Health Workforce
Statement:

Honourable Chair, Distinguished Delegates,

The International Pharmaceutical Students’ Federation, representing over 600,000 members, recognises strong primary healthcare systems and a sustainable health workforce as essential to achieving UHC.

As highlighted in the draft resolution on the WHO Global Code of Practice, Member States are encouraged to strengthen sustainable workforce policies, improve data sharing on international student exchanges, and support mutually beneficial healthcare partnerships.

Through IPSF’s Student Exchange Programme, facilitating over 1,000 onsite and 10,000 online exchanges annually, we advance collaboration and the sharing of skills among future health professionals. IPSF encourages investment in youth-inclusive workforce development and resilient people-centred healthcare systems, recognising the global health workforce as one community working towards Health for All.

Thank you.
