International Pharmaceutical Students' Federation

Meeting:

79th WHA Individual Statements

Agenda Item:
12.4 Universal health coverage
Statement:

Honourable Chair, Distinguished delegates,

The International Pharmaceutical Students' Federation, representing 600,000 members from more than 100 countries, reaffirms our strong commitment to advancing UHC. We believe UHC must be people-centred, equitable, and inclusive, with pharmacists playing a vital role in improving access, promoting prevention, and supporting continuity of care.

At WHA79, IPSF is convening a side event on UHC in collaboration with Sigma Nursing, highlighting the value of pharmacist–nurse collaboration and meaningful youth engagement in strengthening health systems. As a lead-up to the IPSF UHC Youth Summit in Bangkok on 6 August 2026, IPSF calls for empowering young health professionals, investing in essential medicines, and removing financial barriers to advance equitable, people-centred care and achieve UHC for all.

Thank you.
