International Pharmaceutical Students' Federation

Meeting:

79th WHA Individual Statements

Agenda Item:
14.3 Poliomyelitis
Statement:

Honourable Chair, Distinguished delegates,

The International Pharmaceutical Students’ Federation (IPSF) recognises that the end of polio transmission is not the end of polio responsibility.

IPSF supports WHO’s strategy for sustaining a polio-free world and affirms the vital role of pharmacists and pharmacy students in advancing this goal. By strengthening vaccine access, ensuring safe dispensing and cold chain integrity, supporting surveillance efforts, and promoting community education, IPSF helps protect communities and prevent the reintroduction of poliovirus.

Representing over 600,000 members across 100 countries, IPSF remains committed to strengthening vaccine confidence, promoting timely immunisation, and advancing preparedness so that no child is left vulnerable to poliovirus again.

Thank you.
