Honourable Chair, Distinguished Delegates,
The International Pharmaceutical Students’ Federation, representing over 600,000 members across 100 countries, welcomes WHO’s leadership through the Health Emergencies Programme and humanitarian work.
We are alarmed by increasingly complex health emergencies driven by conflict, climate change, funding constraints, and health crises, which continue to strain health systems and vulnerable communities worldwide.
The increasing strain on health systems and vulnerable populations worldwide underscores the vital role we play as pharmacy students and young health professionals through outreach activities, health promotion, and specialised training.
We call on Member States to recognise pharmacists and pharmacy students as frontline healthcare professionals and ensure equitable access to essential medicines, vaccines, and healthcare during emergencies.
