The amended IHR constitutes one of the most effective tools at the disposal of the international community to respond to health emergencies.

We insist on the need for transparency in the implementation of IHR. This is essential across the entire response, particularly regarding manufacture, procurement and donations of health goods, be it for Ebola, Hantavirus, or any other lurking threat.
IHR entered into force through the political will of 182 Member States. the same magnitude of consensus is needed in other pandemic related dossiers.
