Meeting:

79th WHA Individual Statements

Agenda Item:
- Group 1: Malaria & Communicable Diseases
Statement:

World Vision International welcomes the Assembly’s continued commitment to advancing the Immunization Agenda 2030, the End TB Strategy, and the development of a post-2030 tuberculosis strategy. There remains an urgent need for integrated, patient-centred TB and immunization services within primary healthcare with universal coverage. This must be delivered alongside multi-sectoral approaches addressing the social and environmental determinants of TB, including vacccination. Through Global Fund–supported programmes, World Vision works with communities and frontline health workers to strengthen TB prevention, case finding, diagnosis, treatment adherence, and awareness among vulnerable populations. We urge increased investment in reaching zero-dose children with immunization, and child-friendly TB diagnostics and treatment, including non-invasive testing, and shorter, simplified treatment and preventive therapy for children.
