Esteemed delegates and Honourable Chairperson,
We welcome the efforts made by the IGWG to advance negotiations on the WHO Pandemic Agreement, and the finalisation of the PABS Annex.
Recent health emergencies have continuously demonstrated that delayed and inequitable access to vaccines, diagnostics, therapeutics, and care intensifies systemic economic inequalities worldwide. Furthermore, these crises also place a severe and unsustainable burden on healthcare workers.
As future health professionals, we emphasise that equity must remain at the core of the agreement. We ask for stronger commitments to equitable access, fair technology transfer, sustainable financing, and transparent data sharing.
We call on Member States to act with solidarity and ambition to deliver a just, binding and actionable agreement that strengthens preparedness and protects future generations.
