79th WHA Individual Statements
The World Federation of Hemophilia welcomes the resolution on Global Action to Advance Health Equity for People with Hemophilia and Other Bleeding Disorders and commends the Republic of Armenia and co-sponsoring Member States for their leadership.
People living with bleeding disorders face significant underdiagnosis and inequitable access to treatment and care worldwide. These disparities vary across regions, genders, and types of bleeding disorders, resulting in preventable health complications, reduced quality of life, premature mortality, and increased strain on health systems.
The proposed resolution appropriately recognizes the need for strengthened global coordination and sustained policy action to address these disparities. The WFH urges the World Health Assembly to adopt this resolution and calls upon the WHO and Member States to support its effective implementation through sustained political commitment and equitable resource allocation.
