79th WHA Individual Statements
Countries with humanitarian response plans account for 24% of the world's births but more than half its zero-dose children. These children face nearly three times the mortality risk of children in stable contexts.
National systems cannot reach these children without humanitarian partners. Since 2022, Gavi-funded IRC programming with countries and partners — delivering over 30 million doses in six conflict-affected countries at less than $2 per dose – challenges the assumption that delivery in fragile- and conflict-affected settings is cost-prohibitive.
We urge Member States to ensure that Gavi 6.0 Period country plans explicitly embed humanitarian partners, dedicated financing, and programmatic linkages to reach missed communities. IA2030 targets will not be met otherwise.
