Agenda Item:
- Group 8: Rehab, Indigenous Health, & Nutrition
Statement:

Honourable Chair, Distinguished Delegates,

Speaking today on behalf of the International Pharmaceutical Students’ Federation, representing over 600,000 members, and as a young mother able to be here because supportive systems were within reach, IPSF recognises that many individuals, particularly within the health workforce, continue to face barriers to adequate maternal and childcare support.

We affirm that maternal, infant, and young child nutrition is fundamental to healthier futures and resilient health systems. The education, leadership, and professional contributions of many young mothers depend on inclusive and supportive systems.

We therefore call on Member States to strengthen breastfeeding support, ensure access to affordable, nutritious food, and adopt family-friendly policies protecting the health, dignity, and well-being of mothers and children.

Thank you.
