World Federation of Public Health Associations
79th WHA Individual Statements
The World Federation of Public Health Associations welcomes the inclusive approach to reform the global health architecture and strengthen coherence with the UN80 Initiative.
At a time of global instability in health financing, young health professionals are disproportionately affected by job losses, reduced opportunities and excluded from decision-making. Yet young people represent nearly half of the world’s population and will live with the long-term consequences of these reforms.
This is a pivotal and historic moment to turn the tide. We call on Member States to ensure meaningful youth representation, including on the Joint Task Force, and to embed intergenerational equity as a guiding principle.
The World Federation of Public Health Associations and its Young Professional Working Group stand ready to support this process.
