Medicines for Malaria Venture is committed to accelerating investment in research and development to create effective antimalarials, in support of the WHO Global Technical Strategy for Malaria. Progress has stalled since 2016, while the threat of drug-resistant malaria is emerging as a serious risk in several African countries. Without concerted action to contain this threat, decades of progress in the fight against malaria could be undone. MMV will continue to pursue the development of innovative treatments, and we advocate for accelerated introduction of these technologies to reverse the threat of emerging drug resistance and accelerate the path to eliminating the disease
