Despite progress in immunization and perinatal care, 2030 targets for maternal, neonatal and under-5 mortality remain off track.
To accelerate progress towards health-related SDGs, the Medical Women’s International Association recommends three actions.
First, amid challenged multilateralism, governments must reaffirm commitment to stronger global health architecture and increase domestic health financing.
Second, Member States should strengthen engagement with Parliamentarians to co-create evidence-based and sustainable health policies and budgets.
Third, health-related SDGs cannot be achieved without prioritizing Sepsis, which affects 26 million women, 20 million children under five annually, and accounts for 20% of global deaths.
