77th WHA Individual Statements

Agenda Item:
- Group 2.2. Items 14.1 (A77/12), 14.2 and 14.3
Statement:

Climate change is increasing natural hazards and related disasters and health emergencies, which affect girls, women and gender-diverse people more, due to inequalities and discriminatory norms. Therefore, governments must take a gender- and age-responsive, and human rights-based, approach to preparedness and response
We urge 5 actions:
-Ensure inclusivity, of adolescent girls and people with disabilities
-Build resilient health systems with safe, accessible facilities, including from sexual and gender-based violence
-Support and resource community health workers, who are primarily women, and provide critical primary health care services
-Prioritize essential health services, including comprehensive sexual and reproductive health services, as part of UHC
-Collect, analyze and use data disaggregated by age and gender to inform and improve planning and outcomes
