- Group 3.1. Items 15.1, 15.2, 15.3 and 15.5
Statement:

Honourable Chairperson and distinguished delegates,

As medical students, we acknowledge the complex challenges facing global health, including economic instability, extreme weather events, and societal inequalities rooted in resource distribution and privatization. Currently, our society and economy prioritize Financial interests at the expense of people’s health.

To address these social and commercial determinants of health, health in all policies and multi sectoral actions are required to achieve health equity for all. We call upon Member States to:

1. Develop and implement national well-being frameworks and budgets, applying new progress measures beyond Gross Domestic Product.
2.implement monitoring systems and evaluation tools to accurately assess the impact of healthcare policies in achieving health equity.
3. Create a framework convention that aims to address commercial determinants of health, following the framework convention on Tobacco Control.

By prioritizing the well-being of individuals and communities with a holistic approach grounded in equity and sustainability, we can collectively build a healthier, fairer, and more resilient world.

Thank you.
