Agenda Item:
- Group 1.1. Items 11.1 and 11.2
Statement:

Honourable Chair, Distinguished delegates,
The International Pharmaceutical Students’ Federation (IPSF), representing over 500,000 pharmaceutical students and recent graduates globally, underscores the urgency of addressing NCDs to prioritise access to essential medicines and healthcare services.
IPSF reaffirms its commitment to supporting global efforts in combating NCDs and calls for collective action to address this growing public health challenge. As the first point of access to healthcare, pharmacists provide essential services in patient education, prevention, and early detection, which are paramount for effective NCD management.
Therefore, IPSF calls on WHO and its Member States for the full integration of pharmacists into health systems, ensuring their active involvement in NCD initiatives and interventions. Furthermore, we urge Member States to develop and adopt a multilateral strategy priotitising evidence based strategies and increasing funding for the prevention and management of NCDs.

Thank you.
