Statement:

World Vision International welcomes the Executive Board’s recognition of mental health as a global public health and development priority.

We strongly support increased investment in community-based mental health and psychosocial support grounded in rights-based, culturally responsive and evidence-informed approaches.

As a child-focused humanitarian, development and advocacy organization, we recognize that mental health and psychosocial wellbeing are foundational to protection, education, resilience, social cohesion and long-term development outcomes, particularly for children, adolescents, caregivers and communities affected by poverty, conflict, displacement and climate shocks. We encourage sustained investment in integrated and accessible mental health and psychosocial support services within primary health care, education, child protection and community systems, while strengthening prevention, workforce capacity and equitable access.
