A deepening child nutrition emergency is unfolding. Almost half of countries with progress data are off-track to achieve the WHA wasting target, only 19 percent are on track to achieve the 2030 exclusive breastfeeding target, and less than 1% are on track for the anaemia target.
We ask Member States to:
• Prioritise strategies to address wasting, anaemia and breastfeeding
• Include children aged 10-19 in the anaemia & overweight target to address the growing burden of malnutrition among adolescents.
• Integrate nutrition in policy and budgets across all sectors so children can survive and thrive.
• Ensure the resolution on digital marketing of breast-milk substitutes and the Code are translated into national law.
