Statement:

This year marks a pivotal moment in our collective efforts to realise the Immunisation Agenda 2030 goals. The last few years have seen hard fought development and immunisation coverage gains lost due to factors attributed to the COVID-19 pandemic, rise in conflict and protracted crises but also a decline in public confidence in vaccines. The pandemic has highlighted the centrality of immunisation systems and access to vaccines as global public goods not only as a health imperative, but also development, economic and increasingly a security one. Saving more children’s lives with vaccines will require sustained investment, and a collective push centered around communities. To reach zero dose children, those who never received a single shot, we need ambition, sustained political will with accountability and collective action.
