The world invested great hope in the INB process. To keep this alive, we urge all Member States to put equity and solidarity first, towards an Accord that would; ensure pathogen access is in sync with benefits sharing; promote financial justice to enable pandemic PPR in less-resourced countries; introduce an IPR suspension mechanism for pandemic products; and strengthen universal public health care systems.
Considering the centrality of the health and care workforce for pandemic PPR we urge Member States to amend Article 7(1) for a more concerted approach to investment that will address the global health and care workforce shortage. We also call for the inclusion of respect for the trade union and labour rights of health workers in Article 7(2)
