We recognize and appreciate the Secretariat's efforts in developing the MeDeVIS platform, a crucial step towards improving medical device classification. However, there is still much work to be done. We urge member states to support the Secretariat’s continued development of MeDeVIS by expanding its guidance resources, with particular attention to prioritizing medical devices used in the treatment of neglected diseases and advancing interoperability with systems such as ICD, ICPM, and ICF. Additionally, it is essential to continue providing technical support to countries in implementing standardized nomenclature systems to ensure smoother integration with existing frameworks.
