WHA77 Pillar 2, Item 13.3 and 13.4

Thank you, Chair. As an organization dedicated to improving access to affordable innovative medicines and other health technologies in low- and middle-income countries, the Medicines Patent Pool (MPP) is pleased to observe the consistent recognition of the importance of ensuring timely and equitable access to pandemic-related products all through the WGIHR and INB processes.

MPP would like to commend the efforts of the leadership of the two processes and all stakeholders and hopes that the negotiations will resume and be concluded soon.

In the meantime, MPP remains available to offer support in anyway needed, including sharing from its experience and expertise in licensing as well as its work with the WHO on the mRNA Technology Transfer programme. Thank you!
