79th WHA Individual Statements
Agenda item 14.2 marks a critically important new chapter in building evidence-based national and global health architecture.
We hereby recommend that guidance on evidence-based public health and social measures should not be limited to lessons learned from health emergencies.
Rather, it should lay the foundation for good governance principles and help reduce human error in decision-making across the continuum of regular strategic and operational planning.
Member States, including governments and Parliaments, should more closely collaborate with WHO on new, holistic, and practical tools for designing robust national health policies and budgets, and align and harmonise international aid, where relevant.
Finally, non-State actors (NSAs) in official relations with WHO can also make an important contribution to evidence consolidation through the Knowledge Hub.
