78th WHA Individual Statements

Agenda Item:
- Item 17.3 Health conditions in the occupied Palestinian territory, including east Jerusalem
Statement:

For months, MSF teams have witnessed systematic destruction of basic services in Gaza and above all the health system in the name of a war that does not respect any principles of humanity.

Health workers are being killed, ambulances and hospitals are being destroyed, humanitarian and medical aid is being blocked or instrumentalized with a narrative that vilifies health and humanitarian workers.

In many ways, Gaza reflects a deeper crisis we face: an accelerating disintegration of the legal and moral foundations that place limits on war.

MSF calls on the Secretariat and Member States to take concrete steps to ensure that humanitarian and medical assistance is delivered safely, in respect of principles. It means concrete actions to protect the right to health for all and ensure accountability for healthcare attacks.
