77th WHA Individual Statements

Agenda Item:
- Group 3.1. Items 15.1, 15.2, 15.3 and 15.5
Statement:

We have heard from WHO Director-General Doctor Tedros and high-level delegates about the current confluence of threats to health, and we applaud the renewed calls for a concerted global effort to address these common challenges sustainably and equitably.

Addressing issues in isolation has not delivered results. Progress is slow when it should be accelerating to reduce suffering and the financial burden of preventable conditions.

IUHPE continues to call on Member States to invest in multilateral efforts and to adopt, plan, finance and implement comprehensive approaches that cut across sectors such as One Health and Planetary Health, inclusive of all species, Indigenous knowledges and responsive to vulnerabilities and gender disparities, to address the social, ecological, and commercial determinants of health to achieve health and well-being for all.
