International Pharmaceutical Students' Federation
78th WHA Individual Statements
Honourable Chair, Distinguished delegates,
The International Pharmaceutical Students Federation represents over 500,000 pharmacy students and recent graduates in more than 100 countries worldwide.
As an active member of the Quadripartite Working Group on Youth Engagement for AMR and the lead hosts of the “Global AMR Youth Summit”, IPSF stands for its commitment to combat AMR. We firmly believe that pharmacists, as the most accessible healthcare professionals, play an important role in educating both prescribers and patients to mitigate the global threat of AMR.
Therefore IPSF urges WHO and Member States to:
-Expanding pharmacist-led stewardship programs, particularly in LMICs, to promote rational prescribing,
-Investing in culturally adapted education and training for students and health professionals,
-Ensuring equitable access to diagnostics, quality‐assured medicines, and WASH infrastructure in underserved regions.
Thank you Chair
