77th WHA Individual Statements

Agenda Item:
- Group 2.2. Items 14.1 (A77/12), 14.2 and 14.3
Statement:

IPSF recognises the Global Health and Peace Initiative as a common agenda that transcends boundaries.

As trusted healthcare workers, pharmacy professionals are crucial to responding to emergencies and building resilient health systems. However, inadequate access to quality humanitarian training and attacks on healthcare workers limit our full potential.

Therefore, IPSF calls upon the WHO and Member States to:
1. Invest in harmonised and context-specific humanitarian training for healthcare workers.
2. Ensure the safety of healthcare workers in conflict-affected areas by establishing safe zones, systematically documenting violent events and generating countermeasures, including better protective policies.
