Statement:

Honourable Chair, distinguished delegates,

The International Pharmaceutical Students’ Federation (IPSF), representing over 500.000 pharmaceutical students and recent graduates worldwide, reiterates its commitment to combatting AMR.

Over the past four years, IPSF has been co-organising the annual AMR Youth Summit along with youth-led organisations, uniting 1.8 million health students, and drawing hundreds of
youth attendees worldwide. As an active member in the Quadripartite working group on youth engagement for AMR, IPSF remains committed to advancing antimicrobial stewardship, and health literacy within communities.

IPSF commends WHO’s effort on initiatives like GLASS, CDC's antimicrobial stewardship programs, and CARB-X research investments. To tackle AMR, we urge WHO and its Member States to
enhance surveillance and implement infection control measures;
implement robust and sustainable strategies to safeguard AMR efficacy for future generations.
