The International League of Dermatological Societies
158th EB Individual Statements
Honourable Chair, Distinguished Delegates,
The International League of Dermatological Societies welcomes the Director-General’s report on implementing the WHO Mental Health Action Plan 2013–2030.
Common skin diseases, including psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, vitiligo, hidradenitis suppurativa, and acne, are frequently associated with mental health conditions. Their visible nature and inflammation create a substantial psychological burden, often compounded by stigma and social determinants.
We encourage Member States to integrate dermatological care into mental health strategies, ensuring that primary care and community-based services recognise and address these impacts. This is fundamental to upholding the right to health and ensuring no one is left behind.
Thank you.
