Esteemed Delegates, Excellencies, and Honourable Chairperson,

War does not just shatter buildings; it shatters lives and destroys the healthcare system. As 1.2 million medical students dedicated to global health and peace, we support the Global Health and Peace Initiative (GHPI) and mourn our peers lost in conflict zones. We stand with those unable to access healthcare or education.

Negative peace, the absence of conflict, is vital for health systems. Positive peace, marked by equity and justice, is crucial for inclusive health and Universal Health Coverage. The GHPI fosters social cohesion and resilience amid rising global conflicts.

Healthcare neutrality is essential. We must empower healthcare workers to support peace without compromising neutrality and integrate human rights education into medical curricula, emphasizing the link between peace and health.
