Honorable Chairperson, excellencies, and esteemed delegates:

The International Federation of Medical Students’ Association expresses deep concern regarding the humanitarian and health consequences of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, including the reported increase in attacks on healthcare infrastructure and the resurgence of vaccine-preventable diseases such as hepatitis A, pertussis, and measles in 2024.

We commend the efforts of the WHO and the Ukrainian Ministry in delivering health interventions and essential supplies reaching over 2.26 million people. However, with 14 million individuals estimated to be in need of humanitarian continued and coordinated action remains vital.
- We urge the WHO and Member States to:
- Continue to support the protection of healthcare services and workers in accordance with international humanitarian law;
- Increase the funding, as outlined by the WHO, to ensure access to essential healthcare services

As future health professionals,we reaffirm our belief that peace is a fundamental condition for health.. We call to prioritize human life and dignity.
