The Cochrane Collaboration
78th WHA Individual Statements
Honorable Chair, Esteemed Delegates,
Over the past 30 years, Cochrane has been dedicated to producing high-quality, synthesized health evidence to inform decision making.
We urge Member States to consider the adoption of the resolution titled “Strengthening national capacities in evidence-based decision making for the uptake and impact of norms and standards”.
Access to high-quality and timely synthesized evidence is vital in strengthening health systems for UHC. Through our Scientific Strategy, we are committed to producing synthesized health evidence on pressing global health issues, particularly on:
• Multiple chronic conditions, including the integration of rehabilitation
• Infectious Diseases, such as dengue and malaria
• Maternal and Newborn Health, addressing the health equity gap across populations, and
• Climate Change and Sustainability
In order for the WHO to continue their science and evidence-based leadership, relevant departments need core, recurrent funding for this essential function and its country level impact.
