STEPS
This is the second STEPS conducted by Palau.
STEPS is a household-based survey to obtain core data on the established risk factors that determine the major burden of NCDs.

Scope
The following topics were included in the survey: tobacco use, alcohol consumption, diet, physical activity, history of raised blood glucose, history of raised blood pressure, history of raised total cholesterol, history of cardiovascular diseases, lifestyle advice, and cervical cancer screening. Additionally, the following measures were taken: blood pressure, height, weight, fasting blood glucose, total cholesterol and HDL cholesterol. Finally, the following optional modules were included: oral health, violence and injury and cervical cancer.

Sampling
A stratified sample of households was selected with one participant selected per household. See p. 7 of the survey report for more details.
The response rate was 73% (1768 participants from a sample of 2409 households).
Analysis weights are not available.
Survey instrument
This was a hybrid survey that combined some questions similar to or identical to the standard STEPS questions along with other questions. Only the STEPS and STEPS-like questions are included in the dataset provided here.

The user undertakes:
