STEPS
This is the first STEPS conducted by Barbados.
STEPS is a household-based survey to obtain core data on the established risk factors that determine the major burden of NCDs.

Scope
The following topics were included in the survey: tobacco use, alcohol consumption, diet, physical activity, history of raised blood glucose, history of raised blood pressure, family history of NCDs, women's health and cancer screening. Additionally, the following measures were taken: blood pressure, height, weight, waist circumference, fasting blood glucose and total cholesterol.

Sampling
A stratified random sampling design was used to produce representative data for that age range in Barbados.
The overall response rate was 65%.
Data were not able to be weighted. Population-adjustment weights are included in the dataset for each Step.

The user undertakes:
