    The following topics were included in the survey: tobacco use, alcohol consumption, diet, physical activity, history of raised blood glucose, history of raised blood pressure, and history of raised total cholesterol. Additionally, the following measures were taken: blood pressure, height, weight, waist circumference, hip circumference, heart rate, fasting blood glucose, total cholesterol, triglycerides, and HDL cholesterol.

    Sampling Procedure

    A multi-stage cluster sample of households in two wilayas. All eligible individuals within the age range of the survey were selected per household.
