Description
In line with the Qatar National Vision 2030 to achieve a comprehensive world-class healthcare system whose services are accessible to the whole population, the Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) and its partners - Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC), Naufar and Qatar Council for Healthcare Practitioners (QCHP) - are committed to continuously improving the health of Qatar’s population and the care it receives. Each year we report on our progress, reflect on our challenges and set plans in motion to achieve our ambitious goals. In 2017, the health sector successfully overcame challenges imposed by the blockade and demonstrated its resilience. Under the strong leadership of His Highness The Amir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, with the overwhelming support of the people of Qatar and the commitment of all organizations, we strategically managed these challenges. The health system ensured uninterrupted delivery of healthcare services and further improved its performance. The public health system introduced new services and significantly expanded its infrastructure. To guide the development of the Qatar health system over the next five years, the National Health Strategy 2018-2022 was developed, while implementation of existing health strategies and frameworks continued as planned. This report highlights these and other achievements of the public health system during 2017.Content
