Description
The Public Health Act aims to further the prevention and control of disease. It does this by setting out the diseases and contaminants that are of concern and provides the Director with the power to make an order that requires people to act in a certain way to reduce the spread. More specifically, it also provides direction on the supply and use of needles and immunisation. The Act also addresses the smoking of Tobacco or other substances, setting out provisions on under aged smoking, smoking-free areas, the marketing of such products and the license to sell them.
Finally, the Act deals with the management of water quality.
