Description
Myanmar, under the framework of National Health Vision 2030, strives earnestly to improve the health of its people. Universal Health Coverage (UHC) pathway is most appropriate and effective in securing access for all to promotive, preventive, curative, and rehabilitative services at an affordable cost. In line with the strategic directions of UHC, the National Health Plan (NHP 2017-2021) was formulated. In NHP, NCD component has been well taken up.This National Strategic Plan for Prevention and Control of NCDs in Myanmar (2017-2021) was developed by the Ministry of Health & Sports in consultation with all other relevant stakeholders with the aim of "everyone in Myanmar lives a healthy and productive life- free of avoidable disability and death due to NCDs." The development of this National Strategic Plan for Prevention and Control of NCDs in Myanmar (2017-2021) laid down the path for action over the next five years for the government and other parents to follow in building a cohesive and effective response to the burden of NCDs in Myanmar.
