Description
The newly appointed Special Rapporteur submits the present report to the General Assembly in accordance with Human Rights Council resolution 26/20. The report focuses on the right of persons with disabilities to social protection.The Special Rapporteur seeks to provide guidance to States and other actors on the requirements to establish disability-inclusive social protection systems that promote active citizenship, social inclusion and community participation of persons with disabilities, in conformity with the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, while acknowledging the existing difficulties in implementation.
