Description

Suicide is the leading cause of death in Namibia. The suicide rate amongst young adults is the highest, and linked primarily to unemployment and HIV and AIDS, which appears to be the most likely source of suicide in the country.

With the introduction of the National Strategic Plan on Prevention of Suicide in Namibia, multi-professional teams will have an opportunity to address the exorbitant challenges through suicide prevention programmes, workshops, trainings, counseling and other awareness raising campaigns.
