La Política Nacional para la Niñez y la Adolescencia (PNNA), como marco político de largo plazo, establece la dirección estratégica del Estado costarricense en la efectiva promoción, respeto y garantía de los derechos humanos de todos los niños, niñas y adolescentes. La gran aspiración de la PNNA se enuncia de la siguiente manera: Al 2021, Costa Rica espera haber alcanzado el nivel de una nación capaz de garantizar el pleno ejercicio de todos los derechos de la niñez y la adolescencia, y hacer de todo el territorio nacional un ambiente o entorno de protección integral, participación y desarrollo efectivo de los niños, niñas y adolescents que lo habitan. The great aspiration of the PNNA is as follows: In 2021, Costa Rica expects to have reached the level of a nation capable of ensuring the full exercise of all rights of children and adolescence, and to make the entire nation be an integrated environment for the participation and effective development of children and adolescents who inhabit it. The proposed PNNA seeks to ensure the full exercise of rights for children and adolescents of the country by creating conditions, mechanisms and opportunities to achieve this objective.
